The 77th Event of Academic Series of “Hujiang Economy and Management Symposium” was Successfully Held

As the 77th event of the Academic series of Hujiang Economy and Management symposium of Business School on December 1st, Professor Narita Daiju, an environmental economist from the University of Tokyo, presented a lecture titled“Which Japanese prefectures are greenest? Insights from Input-output analysis (I-O)”in the English language. The event was hosted by Dr. Hareesh from university of shanghai for science and technology in Tencent meeting: 629 289 691. Due to a high participation demand from students and colleagues, the lecture was recorded to upload to the school system for playback.

Input-output analysis (I-O) is a form of macroeconomic analysis based on the interdependencies between different economic sectors or industries. During the talk, Prof. Narita will introduce Input-output analysis (I-O) and discuss recent developments. Recent papers by Prof. Narita’s team published in the Journal of Cleaner Production and Sustainable Production and Consumption will be discussed further to understand the application of input–output analysis for the evaluation of environmental footprints of Japanese prefectures. The talk included an overview of the Graduate Program on Environmental Sciences (GPES) at the University of Tokyo along with a brief overview to the Prof. Narita’s research group’s future research directions.

After the lecture, Dr. Hareesh presented a summary of theoretical contributions and practical. Teacher Zhong presented an additional Chinese summary of the lecture followed by colleagues and students having an open-ended Q&A session and interactions with Prof. Narita.
