On the morning of September 23, the fourth steering committee meeting of the Conference on Systems Science of China (CSSC) in 2023 & the preparatory meeting of the 8th CSSC were held in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China. Guo Lei, Ding Xiaodong, Di Zengru, Hong Yiguang, Jia Bin, Han Zhangang, Duan Xiaojun, Gu Chunhua, Zhao Laijun, Gao Yan, Zhi Luping, members of the Steering Committee of the CSSC and members of the organizer; Chu Changlian, member of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Education, Yin Tongyue, chairman of Chery Holding Group; Zhang Zhihong, Lu Ping, Su Guohong, Zheng Jian, Cheng Shuangsi, Feng Quan, Fei Weiyin, and other teachers and students of Anhui Polytechnic University (AHPU), which is the organizer of the 8th CSSC, attended the meeting. The opening ceremony of the meeting was presided over by Lu Ping, President of AHPU, and the preparatory conference was presided over by academician Guo Lei, director of the Steering Committee of CSSC.
During the opening ceremony, Zhang Zhihong, secretary of the Party Committee of AHPU, welcomed the arrival of the experts and gave them an overview of AHPU. Chu Changlian expressed his full support for AHPU hosting the 8th CSSC. Yin Tongyue introduced the Chery Holding Group and hoped to find potential collaboration opportunities in the field of systems. Ding Xiaodong, president of USST, analyzed and evaluated the impact, significance, and value of the 8th CSSC held in Wuhu on behalf of the Systems Science Discipline Review Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. Academician Guo Lei expressed gratitude to all individuals and organizations in Wuhu for their valuable contributions to the field of systems science; he also commended the efforts of AHPU in ensuring the successful organization of the 8th CSSC.
During the preparatory conference, Fei Weiyin, leader of the systems science discipline of AHPU, delivered a detailed report to the Steering Committee on the preparations for the meeting. The participants discussed key topics such as meeting logos, charging standards, and thematic topics. Zhang Zhihong gave a speech on behalf of the organizer. Academician Guo Lei made a concluding speech.
