In the evening of May 19, the third meeting of the Steering Committee of the China System Science Conference 2023 and the fifth meeting of the Board of Governors of the Shanghai Institute of Systems Science were held at the Empark Grand Hotel Chongqing. Guo Lei, Ding Xiaodong, Di Zengru, Zhang Jifeng, Hong Yiguang, Han Zhangang, Duan Xiaojun, Gao Ziyou, Li Zhibin, Gao Yan, Gu Chunhua, Zhao Laijun, Zhi Luping, members of the Steering Committee of the China Systems Science Conference and the 4th Council of the Shanghai Institute of Systems Science, representatives of the hosts of the 7th and 8th China System Sciences Conference, and representatives of the hosts of the 1st Frontier Forum on Systems Science attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by academician Guo Lei, the director of the Steering Committee of the China System Science Conference.

The meeting started with the introduction of Nantong University, the organizer of the First Systems Science Frontier Forum, on the preparation of the Forum. Mao Jingfeng, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering of Nantong University, reported from four aspects: general overview, meeting format, meeting accommodation, and meeting preparation. The experts discussed the scope and principles of the selection of young scholars in the topic of young scholars and the scale of the conference.
Then, Anhui University of Engineering, the organizer of the 8th China Systems Science Conference, introduced the preparation of the conference. Vice President Fei Weiyin of Anhui University of Engineering reported from ten aspects, including organization, conference time, main conference venue, conference scale, conference format, conference contact information, guarantee system, important time points, conference registration and charging standard, and matters that need to be solved. The experts at the meeting discussed the invitation of the conference report experts and the guidance of the conference preparation process.

Then, Gu Chunhua made a work report on behalf of the Shanghai Institute of Systems Science. He reported on the activities of the party building of the Shanghai Institute of Systems Science in the past year, the audit of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the preparation of the 7th China Systems Science Conference and the 1st Frontier Forum on Systems Science, and the promotion of academic exchange of the ideas of the overall entropy preservation and reduction of academician Xue Yusheng.

Finally, Wang Qilin, Dean of School of Mathematics and Statistics, Chongqing Jiaotong University, the representative of the organizer of the 7th Chinese Conference on Systems Science, made a brief report on the final submission of the conference, the registration of the conference attendance up to now, the arrangement of the main conference hall and the session rooms, and the progress of the pre-conference topics in the afternoon.
