In preparation for the upcoming on-site evaluation of AACSB re-certification, on the afternoon of May 5th, the School of Business held an AACSB recertification mobilization meeting in the first conference room on the fifth floor of the Business School Building A. Members of the Party and government leadership team of the School of Business, as well as representatives of teachers and students who participated in the symposium, attended the meeting. The mobilization meeting is chaired by Vice Dean He Jianjia.
Zhao Laijun, Dean of the School of Business, pointed out in his mobilization speech that AACSB recertification is a necessary measure for the school to achieve high-quality development in the new era. Since it passed the initial certification of AACSB in 2018, the school has followed the AACSB certification standard, adhering to the school’s mission of “basing on local practice, breeding and disseminating management theories and methods suitable for China, cultivating high-quality composite management talents with Systems science thinking, innovation spirit and international vision, and serving the prosperity and progress of Shanghai, China and the global economy”, and continuously promoting reform and development. In the past five years, the school has achieved significant results in research, teaching staff, teaching quality, and international development. Re-certification is imminent, and all teachers and students in the school should take this opportunity to summarize their experiences and shortcomings and seek faster and higher development in the future.
The Party Secretary of the school, Ma Jingbo, has raised high expectations for AACSB certification work. He emphasizes that AACSB re certification is one of the most important tasks of the college at present, and hopes that teachers can enter the AACSB recertification evaluation status with a positive attitude and a high sense of responsibility as soon as possible to ensure the effective achievement of the certification evaluation work objectives. He hopes the working group carefully prepare and scientifically coordinate to prepare for the upcoming AACSB re-certification.
He Jianjia introduced the on-site evaluation process of AACSB recertification and thanked all teachers and students for their support and cooperation. With the spirit of “I am in charge of the school,” “I am in charge of development,” and “I am in charge of certification,” he showcased the image of the management institute, demonstrated its value, and promoted its spirit.
After the mobilization meeting, the responsible teachers of the certification working group conducted communication and training with the representatives of teachers and students participating in the symposium on their respective areas, including strategic management, resource management, teacher management, senior teacher representatives, young teacher representatives, symposium student representatives, learning assurance system and course management, teaching effectiveness and impact, as well as research, participation and social impact.
The mobilization conference and group exchange training further strengthened the understanding of the importance of AACSB recertification work among all faculty and students in the Business School, while inspiring morale and boosting confidence, and welcoming the on-site visit of the certification expert group with full enthusiasm.
