Bank of China Financial Expert Luo Suwen Comes to the School to Teach Financial Courses

On the morning of April 25th, Luo Suwen, Technical Manager of the Information Technology Department of Bank of China Shanghai Branch, gave a lecture on “Finance” to undergraduate students majoring in finance at the Business School. Professor Zhang Qinglong, Director of the Finance Department, and Dr. Zhao Xuxia attended the course. 

In the class, Luo Suwen first analyzed the basic principles of artificial intelligence such as Big data analysis technology, common algorithms and model building methodology of machine learning, computer vision and Robotic process automation (RPA), and then introduced in detail the application scenarios of Big data, machine learning, computer vision, RPA in banking business, and how artificial intelligence can help the banking industry alleviate common pain points in business. On this basis, the future development trend of artificial intelligence application in banking business is prospected. Finally, she answered students’ questions on how to balance the efficiency of AI and user privacy protection in the financial industry, which places special emphasis on privacy, and on which businesses ChatGPT, a production-based AI, will further expand the incremental value of the global banking industry. 

Through this class, I learned the basic principles of Big data technology, machine learning, computer vision and RPA, and recognized the important role of artificial intelligence in banking and other financial industries. As a student of finance, I should actively embrace these new technologies, and strive to improve my competitiveness in this rapidly developing field, so as to better grasp the future development opportunities .Shen Zhiyi said. After class, the students all felt that the course was very exciting and they gained a lot. 

Before class, Ma Jingbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Business School, introduced to Luo Suwen the comprehensive talent training agreement between the school and Bank of China, as well as the joint construction of the “Bank of China Huigu” industry-education integration base.
