A Visit of a Delegation of Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware

On April 25, Rick L, Andrews, Vice Dean of Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware, and his delegation visited the Business School. Xu Lin, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Department, Liu Yuan, Deputy Section Chief, Zhang Zheng, Deputy Dean of the School of Business and Deputy Director of the Professional Degree Education Center, Representatives from relevant departments of the school and visitors had discussions and exchanges on the joint cultivation of a dual degree MBA program. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Zheng. 

Zhang Zheng welcomed Rick Andrews and his delegation and introduced our representatives at the meeting.

Xu Lin delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school. She introduced that University of Shanghai for Science and Technology will celebrate its 117th anniversary this year. Over the past century, the school has cultivated many outstanding alumni and social leaders. In recent years, the school has vigorously promoted international certifications for various schools, such as AACSB and EQUIS certifications, with the aim of enhancing the school’s differentiated competitiveness. In addition, the school currently has two international schools, China UK and China Germany. She expressed the hope that this exchange can promote further in-depth cooperation between the two sides.

Wang Yaopeng introduced the basic situation of the School of Business from aspects such as its educational history, organizational structure, teacher-student structure, faculty strength, subject construction, internationalization construction, and talent cultivation.

Rick Andrews introduced the basic information of the University of Delaware and Lerner College of Business and Economics. The University of Delaware is one of the oldest universities in the United States. Founded in 1743, it is also one of the oldest first-class public research and comprehensive universities in the United States. The unique geographical location of the school provides convenience for students’ internships or long-term work and life. Therefore, the University of Delaware is very popular with Chinese students. Lerner College of Business and Economics is one of the nine schools of the University of Delaware and the second largest. There are approximately 3400 undergraduate students and approximately 800 graduate students. The college now has five departments of accounting and management information, business administration, economics, finance, medical care and Sport management.

The two sides had extensive and in-depth exchanges on the joint cultivation of a dual degree MBA cooperation agreement drafted by the School of Business, focusing on issues such as credit conversion, enrollment, English proficiency requirements, and tuition fees. In addition, the two sides also discussed issues such as summer camps, short-term study tours and the 3+1 Double degree program for undergraduates. Both sides unanimously expressed the need to establish a closer cooperative relationship, implement the consensus of the meeting, and strive to sign the cooperation documents as soon as possible. This visit, based on the joint training of a dual degree MBA video conference held by both sides in June last year, further enhanced mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for further in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
