On 11th April, Professor Hisham, the Business School Director of Research, Founding Director of the Sustainable Financial Innovation Research Centre (SFIC), was invited to give a seminar for the Hujiang Economic Management Forum Series (47th) at Room 215, the Forth Teaching Building at USST. The topic of this seminar is “Do Titans Deliver the Promise? Societal Recognition and Responsible Corporate Decisions”. Dr. Yaopeng Wang has hosted this meeting.
During the seminar, Professor Hisham Farag detailly introduced his research by investigating the relationship between corporate ESG activities and the board of directors with royal titles. Professor Hisham Farag believes the ones with royal titles could bring the celebrity effect that can enhance the corporation’s understanding of ESG and the overall ESG activities. In addition, Professor Hisham Farag also believes those celebrities could help the companies accumulate social resources, which could further increase the companies’ contributions to the environment.
In the Q&A session, the audience provided different opinions that could improve the quality of this research.
