On April 12th, Hujiang Economic Management Forum Series (48th) was successfully held in the Lecture Hall of the Second Conference Room of the School of Management. Dr. Qian Chen gave an academic report entitled Disturbance rejection control for connected and automated vehicle platoons . The report was chaired by Dr. Gan Lin. Some teachers of the Department of Traffic System Engineering and several postgraduate students attended the report.

At the report meeting, Dr. Chen introduced the basic principle of car-following control. According to the information sensed by sensors such as radar, a certain control strategy can be developed to control the accelerator or brake, and thus adjust the longitudinal movement of the car to the desired car distance from the vehicle ahead. On this basis, Dr. Chen further elaborated on the disturbance rejection control algorithm design for connected and automated vehicle platoons under communication failure, parameter uncertainties, and external disturbance as well as verification of the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm through simulation.

Towards the end, teachers and students communicated with Dr. Chen on the content of the report. Her report is of positive significance to promote the research of the Department of Transportation System Engineering in the aspect of intelligent transportation system.
