The University Leaders Led a Team to Visit Ernst & Young Hua Ming Accounting Firm to Explore Career Development Opportunities

On the afternoon of March 22nd, Sheng Chun, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, led a delegation consisting of Peng Zongxiang, Minister of the Graduate Work Department and Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Ma Jingbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Business School, Wang Zhangqi, Deputy Minister of the Graduate Work Department and Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Pu Yingying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Business School, and heads of relevant departments of the Business School, to visit EY Hua Ming LLP Shanghai Branch (hereinafter referred to as EY) to carry out a school-enterprise exchange activity for exploring employment opportunities. 

During the meeting, Shi Jianjun, a partner of the Advisory Department of EY Shanghai Branch, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced EY's development history and its four major business modules of consulting, taxation, auditing, and strategy and transaction consulting. The senior managers of each business department elaborated on the characteristics and future development of their departments, as well as the recruitment needs and talent training mechanisms of their respective businesses. They suggested that the school's training system should be closely integrated with the needs of social development, encouraged students to master cutting-edge knowledge in multiple disciplines and engage in internships and practical activities as early as possible, and strive to become high-level compound talents with solid professional foundations and excellent comprehensive quality. 

Subsequently, Sheng Chun introduced University of Shanghai for Science and Technology's long history of development, rich teaching resources, and strong faculty, emphasizing that the school will focus more on cultivating high-quality compound talents with a strong foundation, excellent skills, diversity, and innovation in the future. 

Ma Jingbo then introduced the background of the Business School's century-old business education and diversified disciplinary settings, focusing on the school's abundant teaching resources in multiple disciplines, and how it has been providing students with cross-disciplinary courses. The heads of the departments also expressed their commitment to deepen educational reforms and strive to achieve seamless integration between the school's talent cultivation and the selection and employment of personnel by enterprises. 

During the exchange, the school and enterprises had in-depth discussions on topics such as curriculum reform and innovation, enterprise talent demand, development difficulties faced by graduating students, and improvement of students' abilities. They also expressed their intention to strengthen collaboration in various aspects, including talent cultivation requirements, reform of training plans, appointment of enterprise mentors, student internships and employment, and key project research. 

The visit ended successfully. In the future, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology will continue to strengthen deep exchanges with enterprises, focus on promoting innovation in talent cultivation systems and mechanisms, and make unremitting efforts to deliver high-quality talents to society and enterprises, as well as help students achieve high-quality employment. The goal is to jointly explore a win-win situation for school-enterprise cooperation.
