Academician Yang Shanlin Came to Our University to Deliver a Lecture

On the afternoon of March 5th, Academician Yang Shanlin was invited to our university to deliver a lecture entitled Artificial Intelligence and Management Reform for teachers and students. Sheng Chun, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice President, Zhao Laijun, Dean of the Business School, Ma Jingbo, Secretary of the School Party Committee, and Pu Yingying, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, attended the seminar. More than 100 teachers and students from the university participated in the seminar. The seminar was chaired by Sheng Chun.

Academician Yang Shanlin elaborated from four aspects: New Progress in Data Intelligence and Deep Learning Methods, Interactive Development of Artificial Intelligence and Domain Science, Integrated Development of Artificial Intelligence and Manufacturing Service Industry, and Deep Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Management Science. He introduced AI in simple terms about the new achievements in various fields such as life science, archaeology, mathematics, climate and environmental science, chemistry, health care, etc. He said that basic research is the source of innovation in original technology, and integrated innovation is necessary for high-end product research and development. Academician Yang Shanlin's profound and clear presentation deeply inspired the teachers and students attending the seminar. The participants had in-depth interactive exchanges around issues such as the cultivation of artificial intelligence professionals.

Yang Shanlin is an academician of the CAE (Chinese Academy of Engineering) Member, an expert in management science and information system engineering, and a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Management of the Hefei University of Technology. Currently, he is the Director of the Academic Committee of the Hefei University of Technology, the Director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Decision and Information Systems, and the Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Circulation and Transaction Technology. For a long time, he has been engaged in intelligent decision-making theory and information system theory and their application in engineering management. He has applied research to fields such as common key technologies of cast iron, complex new product development and manufacturing engineering, intelligent medical health care, and achieved innovative results in both theory and practice.
