Following the spirit of the 20th Party Congress on further guidance and inspiration of students to participate in academic science and technology practice, stimulate student interest in academic research, and enhance their innovative and practical ability and social competitiveness, a training session of the 18th “Challenge Cup” Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition was held in the afternoon of February 20 in the second conference room of the Business School. Pu Yingying, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Zhou Qiang, the instructor of the Youth League Committee, the instructors of the Challenge Cup teams and participating students and their supervisors attended the training session.
During the training session, Ms. Liu Ting gave a detailed instruction and explanation on the development of “Challenge Cup”, different competition channels, competition objectives, competition guidelines, as well as the qualifications for participation and skills of the competition. After that, the participating teachers and students communicated with Ms. Liu in depth about the questions and difficulties they encountered in the competition. Ms. Liu answered patiently considering the actual situation and her own experience, meticulously implemented the discussion into each team's essay or investigation report, put forward guiding opinions and suggestions for each project, and solved the questions of teachers and students on the spot.
The Business School has always attached great importance to the nurturing role of various high-level science and technology competitions, and has been making regular efforts to widely publicize and mobilize in the school through online public media, lecture sessions, and liaising with senior teachers in the school to guide, explore and cultivate outstanding works based on the advantages of their disciplines to attract students to actively participate in the competitions and strive to build an academic community of teachers and students. At the same time, the school insists on taking various science and technology competitions as one of the grasping hands of academic atmosphere establishment, actively cultivating students' spirit of scientific research and academic exploration, promoting students' integrated development, and effectively promoting the quality of various majors, discipline development and talent training of the school to a new level.
