On December 4, the final of the Lin Long Lighting Cup the 2nd Shanghai University Student Transportation Innovation Competition was successfully held at the Business School of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. The final was sponsored by Shanghai Traffic Engineering Society and Shanghai Highway Society, inviting 14 external experts from the Construction Management Committee of USST, Shanghai Traffic Commission, Shanghai Electric Intelligent System Co. East China Architectural Design and Research Institute Co. Ltd. and other relevant units of the transportation industry. The final was organized by Zhao Laijun, Dean of Business School of USST, Hao Runke, Dean of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Han Yin, head of the discipline of transportation engineering, and the Department of Transportation, was co-sponsored by Shanghai Linlong Construction Engineering Co. Representatives of teachers and students from Shanghai Traffic Engineering Society, Shanghai Highway Society, Shanghai Linlong Construction Engineering Co., Tongji University, Shanghai Traffic Information Center, Shanghai Housing and Urban-Rural Engineering Department and all participating members were present at the final.

The opening ceremony of the final competition was hosted by Zhao Jing, Vice Dean of Business School of USST. Dean Zhao Laijun delivered a speech and expressed his warm welcome to the leaders, experts and students and teachers from other institutions, briefly introduced the development of Business School and the discipline of transportation engineering in recent years, and emphasized the significance of holding the Student Transportation Innovation Competition and encouraged our students and teachers to take this event as an opportunity to learn from other institutions.

On behalf of the competition organizer, Huang Chengming, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Highway Society, expressed his heartfelt thanks to University of Shanghai for Science and Technology for hosting the competition, and briefly introduced the basic situation of Shanghai Highway Society and the cooperation relationship with University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, hoping to further strengthen the foundation of cooperation between the two sides and cultivate a new generation of transportation innovation, and finally wished the competition a complete success.

This year's Shanghai University Student Transportation Innovation Competition, with the theme of Intelligent, Sustainable and High Quality, attracted nearly 200 undergraduates and graduates from more than 10 universities, including Tongji University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology, Shanghai University of Applied Science and Technology, Shanghai Public Security College, Shanghai Institute of Electrical Engineering, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, etc. After strict expert evaluation in the preliminary stage, a total of 27 works from 7 universities were selected as finalists, including 10 finalists in the undergraduate track and 17 finalists in the graduate track.
The final competition was divided into undergraduate track and graduate track 1 and 2 groups, which were held simultaneously in the lecture hall of the second conference room, seminar room of the second conference room and conference room 610 of Business School. After a fierce on-site defense, based on the comprehensive scoring of the judging panel, the first prize was awarded to 5 teams, the second prize to 11 teams and the third prize to 11 teams, and the list of winners is attached. The sponsors, co-sponsors and organizers presented the awards to the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Lastly, Shi Xiaofa, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Transportation Engineering Society, made a concluding speech, in which he highly affirmed the level of the entries and pointed out that the competition fully responded to the national 14th Five-Year Plan for the development of modern comprehensive transportation system, which proposed to build a high-quality comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, accelerate the depth and application of intelligent technology, and comprehensively promote green and low-carbon transportation. The competition also fully demonstrated the innovation ability and scientific research quality of Shanghai transportation-related students. Finally, on behalf of the organizer, he announced the successful conclusion of the 2nd Shanghai University Student Transportation Innovation Competition Final.
