On the afternoon of November 27, the 2022 Annual Conference of Shanghai Engineering Management Society was successfully held online. More than 100 persons were present in the meeting including the leaders of Shanghai Engineering Management Society and the Business School of University of Shanghai for Science & Technology(BS-USST), council members.
Prof. Geng Xiuli, Secretary General of Shanghai Engineering Management Society, presided over the meeting. She introduced the guests present in the conference, and extended a warm welcome to all participants. Ma Jingbo, Secretary General of the Party Committee of the BS-USST, delivered a welcome speech. He mentioned that thereport to the 20th National Congress pointed out the demand of accelerating the construction of a new development pattern and promoting high-quality development. The high-quality industrial development cannot be achieved without modern engineering management methods and technologies. This conference is of great significance to promote education in engineering management of USST.
Professor Sun Shaorong, Chairman of the Society, Secretary of the Party, and an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, reported on the work of the Society since 2022 and the work plan for the next step. Prof. Sun described the activities of the society and the specific committees in this year. He stated that the main tasks of the Society are to engage more members, hold more activities on dissemination of popular science and academic exchange so as to enhance the influence of the Society, and promote the application of academic achievements in engineering management in Shanghai.
The annual meeting reviewed and passed a proposal of establishing a Special Committee on Digital Economy and Enterprise Digitalization in Engineering Management.
The final results of the Sixth Shanghai Engineering Management Innovation Competition were announced at the meeting. The projects evaluated in the competition used digital and systematic tools to solve engineering management problems. The objects covered both complex products such as luxury cruise and aircraft engines, and traditional products such as automobiles. The topics covered manufacturing, construction, transportation, healthcare, education etc.
Prof. Jiang Zuhua (Shanghai Jiaotong University), Vice President of Shanghai Engineering Management Society, and Prof. Wang Tao (Shanghai Tongji Hospital), Director of the Special Committee on Health Engineering Management, presided over the conference together. Professor Xu Jianqiang, Director of Quality and Airworthiness Department of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), gave a presentation on System Engineering and Civil Aircraft Development. He introduced the system engineering management practice of large aircraft around the requirements and technology, and comprehensively analyzed the requirements of large aircraft configuration control. Chen Yalu, Strategic Consulting Director of Strategic Planning Department of Wanda Information Co., Ltd. gave a presentation on “Deeply cultivating three medical networks and stimulating new power of data fertile ground”, introducing the construction and development prospect of data-driven medical network ecosystem by taking the first Yangtze River Delta intelligent Internet hospital and Hainan three medical networks project as examples. These two reports were closely related to the application of system engineering and digital technology in engineering management, and the participants responded enthusiastically.
