On the morning of November 19, the Department of Information Management and Information Systems held an online seminar for the training of the 3rd Shanghai Open Big Data Analytics Challenge for Universities. The theme of this year's competition is Livelihood and Enterprise Development in the Post-COVID Era, and a total of 55 teams successfully registered and were audited. The competition is dedicated to improve the data analysis and algorithm application ability of contemporary college students, and design the topics in six aspects: the evolution of the epidemic itself, industrial internet, agricultural products, international trade, service industry and financial industry, in order to make suggestions for the development of people’s livelihood and enterprises in the post-COVID era. The meeting was hosted by Associate Professor Zhu Xiaodong from the Department of Information Management and Information Systems. The meeting was comprised into two parts: “Conduct competition data analysis platform based on the Blue Eagle New Business Data Lab” and “competition rules”.
Firstly, Prof. Zhu delivered a speech to welcome the guests and participating teachers and students from all universities to this training session, and briefly introduced the functions of the Blue Eagle Lab data analysis platform provided by the competition co-organizer Beijing Zhong Yun Guo Chuang Data Technology Co., Ltd.
Then, Manager Pei Haiqin from Beijing Zhongyun Guochuang Data Technology Co., Ltd. demonstrated in detail the project creation and organization of Blue Eagle Lab AI platform, SQL language operation for data, Python language operation, drag-and-drop operation without language, and chart visualization skills. After the demonstration, students asked corresponding questions about various problems encountered in the operation, for example, whether the data could be downloaded and whether AI analysis could respond in a timely manner. The engineers of Beijing Zhongyun Guochuang Data Technology Co., Ltd. and Zhu Xiaodong gave detailed answers to the questions related to the operation.
Finally, Zhu Xiaodong gave a detailed introduction and experience sharing on the requirements and rules of the competition, and answered the questions of the participating students one by one. The training was completed successfully.
