The Business School Held the 2022 Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition

In order to improve further the quality of teaching and talent training in young teachers, the Business School held the 2022 Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition on November 7. Professor Zhao Laijun, the dean of Business School, Ma Jingbo, the secretary of the Party Committee, professor Zhang Zheng, the vice dean, professor Li Zhengming, the teaching supervisor, professor Yang Jianzheng, the former vice dean, professor Yan Guangle, the former vice dean, the heads of undergraduate education of all departments and young teachers who had joined the school in the past five years participated in the activity. The teaching competition was hosted by Zhang Zheng, Vice dean.

First of all, Zhao Laijun delivered a speech. He pointed out that young teachers make an important force in the development of the school. Young teachers should adopt student-centered teaching style, follow the natural development of physical and psychological of students, keep updating the education and teaching theory, and practice the basic teaching skills. It is hoped that young teachers will consciously practice the mission of building morality and cultivating people. With the tenacity of “ten minutes of stage, stage takes ten years”, they will keep improving their education and teaching ability, educate talents for the Party and the country, burn themselves and illuminate others. Then the young competitors showed their classroom teaching on the spot.  

The expert evaluation team made comments and scores on the classroom teaching of each contestant in terms of teaching design, teaching content, teaching organization, language teaching mode, teaching characteristics, etc., and put forward targeted improvement suggestions while fully recognizing the characteristics of young teachers.

The competition lasted more than 4 hours. After careful and strict evaluation by experts, Zheng Yaqin, Wang Yaopeng and Li Wenxiang won the first prize, and Wang Haiying, Li Yanan, Ding Rui, Zhou Yiwei, Li Lixia and Fu Wenhan won the second prize.

Zhang Zheng said that young teachers have fully demonstrated their solid teaching skills through novel and vivid curriculum design, distinctive teaching ideas and styles, and their teaching level has been greatly improved. Talent training is the central work of the school. Young teachers should take “Youth on the Platform” as the theme, adhere to the combination of knowledge teaching, ability training and value guidance, and cultivate high-quality talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, fitness, beauty and labor.

Finally, Ma Jingbo made a concluding speech. He believed that the teaching competition for young teachers was of great significance, provided a good platform for young teachers to demonstrate their style and exchange teaching experience. Classroom teaching is the “mainstay” of talent training. The teaching level of young teachers directly affects the quality of undergraduate talent training in the school. The school’s party and government team attaches great importance to the growth of young teachers, and will provide better conditions for young teachers to invest in teaching and research. It is hoped that every young teacher would be a “good teacher in the eyes of students”.

Through this teaching competition, a sound atmosphere of “promoting learning and teaching through competitions” has been further created, which is of great significance for strengthening young teachers’ classroom teaching ability and improving the outcome of undergraduate  of our school.
