On the morning of October 29, on the occasion of the 116th anniversary of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, the Business School held the Meeting of the MBA Alumni Council Election in the form of online and offline together with the theme of "Gathering on science and creating the future". The offline main venue was located in Conference Room 506, the fifth floor of the business school building. At the beginning of the meeting, Ma Jingbo delivered a speech on behalf of the Business School and expressed thanks and warm welcome to the leaders, alumni and teachers who participated in the meeting online and offline. The School has carried out a series of effort and achieved remarkable results in terms of faculty building, internationalization, talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, cultural heritage and innovation. Ma Jingbo said that the university, the school and the alumni are a community of shared destiny, and the alumni are the most valuable wealth of the school. The school will always be the solid supporter and spiritual home of alumni. As the secretary-general of the second MBA Alumni Council, Zong Jiawu, on behalf of the second MBA Alumni Association, broadly reviewed the work of the second MBA Alumni Council, mainly focusing on contacting alumni, understanding their needs, publicizing their achievements, expanding alumni resources, gathering alumni' strength and promoting the development of the school; At the same time, as the president of the third MBA Alumni Association, I deeply feel the arduous task and glorious mission, and will uphold the purpose of contacting alumni, serving alumni, publicizing the alma mater, and contributing to the alma mater. I will explore and innovate and work hard. He proposed three key points in the future work. First, efforts should be made to explore ways and means for excellent alumni work under the new situation; Second, we should strengthen the organizational development, improve the operating mechanism, and promote the orderly development of alumni work based on full alumni resources; Third, we should improve the alumni work network, establish local alumni associations and industry alumni associations, and build a platform for alumni to communicate and cooperate with each other and with the school. At the same time, the alumni association also adheres to the basic concept of building a platform, co-creating, co-building, and sharing, providing a platform for student consultation, providing technical guidance for students, so that the alumni association can play an important role in talent cultivation and employment of the students.

Zhang Zheng expressed that he sincerely hoped that the new MBA Alumni Council could steadily promote the work of the Alumni Association. Then he introduced several important advantages of the MBA of USST: First, the context of business for a hundred years; Second, in 2018, the college passed the AACSB international certification (including MBA) and entered the international elite business school sequence; Third, the MBA program (executive) returned to Fuxing Road Campus. In addition, relying on the superior disciplines of USST, the program carried out the featured talents cultivation, and launched three featured directions of medical equipment, artificial intelligence and innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, USST is the affiliated unit of the Industry-Education Integration Special Committee of the Shanghai MBA Education Instruction Committee. It is hoped that the MBA can play a leading role in industrial integration, form a replicable experience that can be promoted, break some barriers between Shanghai MBA programs, and build a meta universe education platform for Shanghai MBA programs. It is also hoped that the alumni and the school will work together to strengthen the construction of alumni work, boost the career development of alumni. In his speech, Zhao Laijun put forward six hopes for the new Council. First, establish and improve the organizational structure, fully mobilize the initiative and enthusiasm of Council members, forge ahead, and innovate the organization; Second, reorganize the alumni information of all grades and regions, establish an effective contact mechanism, give play to the positive role of alumni associations in all regions, and form a network effect; Third, make full use of the alumni activity space in Fuxing Road Campus to establish an MBA alumni home as soon as possible and carry out various activities beneficial to the school and alumni; Fourthly, the alumni council should work with the relevant principals of the school to formulate a relatively complete, implementable and effective annual MBA alumni work plan, and formulate specific goals and tasks; Fifthly, explore alumni resources, give full play to the positive role of alumni in the talent cultivation of the school's professional degree programs, strongly recommend outstanding MBA alumni to speak in person, serve as off-campus tutors and recruitment ambassadors of the school, and make positive contributions to the development of the school. Sixthly, integrate industry and education based on alumni enterprise resources through the channel of MBA alumni association; establish student training centers with the school, and strengthen the contact and cooperation between the school and alumni enterprises.
