Associate Professor Liu Yong discussed the research progress of interpretable artificial intelligence from the source of problems, research status and development trend. Liu said that interpretable artificial intelligence has become a research hotspot, because artificial intelligence needs to build trust with users to let them understand the “what's going on” in machine learning decisions in various application scenarios such as bank finance, autonomous vehicle, and medical diagnosis. Although some progress has been made in the research of interpretable artificial intelligence, there are still many challenges, such as the expansion of existing interpretable artificial intelligence theories and methods, and the evolution relationship between interpretability and security of artificial intelligence. In addition, causal inference is an important method to study interpretable artificial intelligence.

At the last part of the meeting, the main speaker and the audience had an interaction and exchange.
