On the morning of December 10th, the expanded meeting of the third meeting of the Eighth Systems Science Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and the meeting of the Steering Committee of the China Systems Science Conference was held online. Members of the Systems Science Discipline Evaluation Group, members of the Steering Committee of the China System Science Conference, special guests and heads of various degrees in system science attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ding Xiaodong, convenor of the Systems Science Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and President of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology(USST).
As the organizer of the sixth China Systems Science Conference, Dean of Business School of USST, Professor Zhao Laijun made a comprehensive report on the preparation of the conference, and put forward that, in order to meet the needs of professionals in systems science and related areas, the conference will add high-level talent recruitment, specially invited units intending to recruit talented people. The secretary-general of the Eighth Systems Science Discipline Evaluation Group, National University of Defense Technology Professor Duan Xiaojun first introduced the work of Systems Science Discipline Evaluation Group in 2021, then reported the national systems science degree information and systems science new degree in 2021, and gave detailed introduction to the universities with new degree. Professor Gu Chunhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, reported the solicitation of members of China Systems Science Research Society to the conference from three aspects: discipline development background, overall work plan and completion points of work, and issued an invitation to the academic degree points and research institutions attending the meeting. Professor Gao Yan, the leader of systems science of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, reported in detail the construction of systems science undergraduate curriculum system from the aspects of training objectives, curriculum system, curriculum group, curriculum setting and teaching syllabus.
Subsequently, the experts and scholars attending the meeting had a heated discussion on the organizational structure of the Sixth China Systems Science Conference, the selection of the conference reporter and the theme of the report, put forward their own opinions, and gave valuable suggestions on key issues such as discipline connotation, discipline development trend, existing problems and future development direction. Experts at the meeting unanimously affirmed the contribution of USST to the development of systems science discipline.
The director of the steering committee of China Systems Science Conference, Academician Guo Lei analyzed the conference reporter selection plan one by one, for the establishment of the conference theme, put forward the strategy of combining artificial intelligence, complex system and control systemas well as firmly grasping the international system science frontier theory development, from three aspects, i.e., the material system, life system, social system.
President Ding Xiaodong made a summary speech. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the experts for their valuable suggestions, and ensured that the working group would carefully sort out the expert opinions and suggestions and implement them into the work one by one. At the same time, he warmly welcomed the experts and scholars from other institutions to sign up for the 6th China Systems Science Conference.
