The Department of Business Administration Held a Lecture on “The World Situation After The Epidemic and China’s Strategic Choice”

 On October 29th, the professor Hu Jian, director of the Center for Soft Power Research of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and doctoral supervisor, was invited by Business Administration of the Business School (BS), University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) to gave a speech on the theme “The world situation after the epidemic and China’s strategic choice”. The speech was hosted by He Jian Jia, vice president and director of social political leadership team of business administration course, teachers of the department of business administration and nearly 100 students attended the lecture.

  The speech can be divided into two parts: firstly, professor Hu introduced that the whole world is undergoing “the biggest change in a century”, which is reflected not only in the fact that the technological revolution is profoundly changing the world and people’s daily lives, but more importantly, COVID-19 has a significant influence on the world economy as a whole. But the COVID-19 cannot change the general trends towards deeper cooperation in the context of globalization, nor can it change the world’s desire for peace. Then professor Hu analyzed after the epidemic China would face a more complex international environment and also face the problem of China’s further development. Therefore, internal development and external security would be the two most important events in integrating international and domestic situations and modernization of national governance.

  After the speech, professor Hu interacted with teachers and students and answered the questions puzzled about in detail. Teachers who attended the speech said that the sharing of professor Hu’s thematic report deepened their understanding of the world situation and China’s strategy, enlightened them on how to carry out social political education class in the course of teaching and enhanced their confidence of further advancing the social political work in the course of business administration and the construction of first-class undergraduate specialty.
