On the morning of December 26, 2019, Professor Zhao Laijun of Shanghai Jiaotong University gave a lecture on how to apply for the National Self-Science and Social Science Fund in Room 506 of the Business School. More than 50 teachers attended the lecture. The lecture was presided over by Professor Ye Chunming, Vice Dean of the Business School.

Professor Zhao Laijun took the national natural and social sciences fund projects as the starting point, and introduced the types of fund projects, project guidelines, project basis and research content, and peer expert review points in a simple and simple way. At the same time, in-depth analysis of the reasons why related projects failed the review and other issues, emphasized the importance of discovering, analyzing and solving problems for project applications. He emphasized that self-study projects should emphasize originality, and made detailed comments on topics and topic formulation, research content and research methods, scientific research value and direction. He stated that the social science fund project must meet the national strategic goals and the needs of social development, try to integrate the theory of topic selection with reality, highlight the times, and reflect the new requirements of the current stage of economic, social and cultural development for the research of social science theory. After the lecture, everyone had an application discussion and exchange.

Focusing on logistics management, emergency management, environmental governance and other research fields for a long time, he has achieved a number of pioneering research results and published more than 130 papers, including high-level research in IISE Transactions, Transportation Research Part E, European Journal of Operational Research, etc. 54 papers (including 52 first or corresponding authors) published in international journals, 14 books published, 10 decision-making consultation reports were adopted by the Central Office, Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipal Government, etc., and 12 provincial and ministerial awards were awarded. Presided over 50 projects of various types, including 7 national-level projects, including 5 National Natural Science Foundation of China and 2 National Social Science Foundation (including 1 key project).
